Idea: Integration with WikiTree
- Pros:
- WikiTree provides a family tree structure and a profile for each family member.
- WikiTree may be the best collaborative genealogy website currently available.
- It has excellent functional and technical support and thousands of members.
- It is an ideal venue for STURDEVANTs to collaborate on information about family members.
- Lost STURDEVANTs may be linked to specific profiles on WikiTree thus providing huge public visibility to the need for information to break a research brickwall.
- WikiTree would be a great venue for STURDEVANT family members and non-Sturdevants to identify missing or incorrect information.
- Any WikiTree member may create a profile. The creator becomes the manager of that profile.
- Cons:
- WikiTree requires membership and has strict (albeit necessary) rules.
- No easy means to download group data; one profile at a time.
- Method:
- Create a link from each Lost STURDEVANT to a WikiTree profile. The member creating the profile is the manager of that profile on WikiTree. There may be multiple profile managers.
