Since mtDNA follows the direct maternal line, these results are not directly relevant to STURDEVANT Y-DNA research. The mtDNA haplogroup identifies the haplogroup of the tester’s mothers direct maternal lineage (mother’s mother’s mother, etc.), so, this information may be helpful to members researching their maternal lineage.
